We thought you should know what data we collect, how we collect it and why we do it.

We use a self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance to track how users are learning about our site. This is stored permanently but nothing identifiable is stored, and is visible to anyone here. What is stored is your basic location from your IP (country), user agent, referrer, and where you go on our site.

Internally, we also temporarily store data about you and your downloads for a few reasons. At absolute minimum, we store what you input on our site, and if your download errors. We do this for a few reasons - mainly to combat abuse and just to generally serve you the downloads you want.

To provide functionality (kept for only a few seconds, for requests)
To track failures of downloads (kept indefinitely)
To track what's being downloaded, and to cache downloads (kept in memory, as long as server is online)
To track abuse (kept in memory, as long as server is online)
