What even is Lucida?

Lucida, as a service, is a music ripper with an emphasis of ease of access, and accessibility as a whole. It's meant to be a merge of the teams from DoubleDouble and Slav Art, both the site and the Discord/Telegram bot having the goal of providing music for free. Getting rid of the bad and keeping the good, Lucida was born.

Will there be a Discord/Telegram bot?

Eventually, yes. We wanna perfect the site first, though.

How does this site work?

This site essentially functions as a wrapper of the Lucida downloader library written in TypeScript.

Are you planning on adding more sites?

Since this is in beta, as I write this we plan to support all of the services supported by DoubleDouble currently.

You can see a complete list of sites we are planning to add over here.

However, we are never adding Bandcamp, because Bandcamp is primarily used by independent artists. Just wait for a Bandcamp Friday to get your songs.

This spectrum of this audio file looks off / FakinTheFunk says your file is fake!

We provide 100% real decrypted files from the services you request from. Some artists and labels are known to post upscaled files onto streaming services. Nothing we can do about it sadly.

All we do after decryption is add metadata. As well as any conversions you specifically request.

Who made the logo, mascot, and wordmark?

The artist wanted to be credited as simply "arc". He is active in the Discord.

Do you have an API?

We currently do not have an API, public or private. Please do not scrape/bot our website. The library we use is already available, and on top of that, we do eventually plan to have an open API. No ETA yet, do not ask.

Are you OSS / open-sourced?

Although we are based on OSS (see first question), at this time - the backend and frontend are not open sourced at this time. However, we plan to be eventually.

My internet service provider and/or country blocks your site! What should I do?

We currently have two official domains you can access this site from.

This is mainly to circumvent network filters either installed by your workplace or country. In the case that these both don't work, we highly recommend Mullvad VPN or a DPI bypasser.

I keep getting network-related errors when downloading! What gives?

This is most likely due to a browser extension you have. If you have a download accelerator or manager outside of the vanilla one that comes with your browser, simply disable it on our website.
